Carb free foods


Most people are willing to do just about anything to reduce weight. One type of diet that has been known to help many people succeed in their weight loss is the carb free diet. Many people however still have difficulties understanding the type of foods that are carb free. The most basic thing to do in order to avoid confusion in the carb free diet is to first understand what foods contain no carbs.

Dieters often would like to know which foods contain no carbs when they decide to go for the carb free diet.

Carb free diets limit the amount of carbs you eat so that insulin control is exerted. Carb free foods can help you limit carbohydrate intake while at the same time them: allowing you to eat adequately. To help you know the carb free foods here are a few examples:


Animal protein and meats that are naturally occurring contain no carbohydrates but the processed deli meats are processed with sugar and salt solutions adding carbs to the meat. It’s important to read the package labels to know whether pre packaged products contain carbs. Naturally, the foods listed here contain no carbohydrate at all. Veal, beef, organ meats that is brains, liver and kidneys, pork, mutton, tongue, chicken, turkey, fish like salmon and trout, duck, goose, game meat, eggs and shellfish among many others.



 All dairy products are made from milk and milk contains simple sugars which are basically carbohydrates. The only daily product that does not contain any carbs is butter.

Unsaturated fats

Condiments, oils and seasonings that contain no carbs are: salt, animal oils like lard and fish oil, some brands of margarine, nut and fruit oils like avocado, canola and olive oil.

 There are sugar substitutes that contain no carbs such as aspartame, sucralose and saccharine. Since these products contain sweeteners, they might affect the blood sugar and so you should proceed with caution.
Most beverages contain no carbs. However if they are sweetened then they might contain some traces of carbohydrates.

Eggs are generally thought as breakfast food because they are delicious as part of the breakfast. Eggs give you with a chance to start off your day in a healthy, nutritious way and lay a foundation for lifelong health benefits such as better concentration, weight control and productivity. Eggs can be added to salads, fried, scrambled or boiled.

Vegetables and fruits

Green and fibrous vegetables like lettuce, broccoli and cucumber provide fundamental nutrients and the much needed fiber without overloading on carbohydrates.

Although fruits are not a carb free dieter’s everyday friend, some fruits like berries are carb free. These include all sorts of berries like the strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Healthy oils provide the much needed fats in the diet. Additionally they liven up the taste of your carb free foods. Coconut, macadamia nuts, fish oil and olive are examples of sources of oils that are carb free. Oils are used to season salad or vegetables.

Other carb free foods include nuts like almond, peanuts, and cashew nuts are good for the dieter. 
Stores sell seasonings that can be used to spice up your meat. Therefore with these and so many more carb free foods it is clear that dieters can still have the tastiest meals they can ever want.
